This is a typical day in the Kane household. Lucky’s dance to get food starts earlier and earlier — it is 11:00 am, as evidenced by the breakfast dishes all over the place.  Lucky has learned that the more annoying he is, the more likely we are to give in and feed him “dinner” before noon.

The day started at 5:30 am…getting up, braving the crowds at the Metro.  We were forced to walk down the 3rd street tunnel (this is the on-ramp to interstate I-395) to get to the gate for entrance into the ticketed area.  This is a video of the crowd in the tunnel…pumped up for Obama.

Random crowd shot.  It was pretty packed trying to get to our seats.  This is before we got to the ticketed area.

Me and Rob in our “seats” before the swearing-in ceremony.  Many hours already in the cold…many more to go before Obama came on the scene.  The crowd was still filling in.
